Welcome to IST 494
This blog will serve as our online classroom in which we get to share our perspectives on the texts and films that we read and view each week, and in which you get to practice writing for a public audience as you create your own blog posts. My hope is that this blog will work as a space for free and civil debate about the ideas and issues that we explore in the course, and that as a class we will use our dialog with each other to inspire our research and reflection about social class and its impact on contemporary culture.
In addition, I will use this space to post any announcements or reminders that come up throughout the semester, so even if you’re not scheduled to do your own post on the blog, you should be reading here regularly and commenting on the posts that others complete. Please be sure to let me know if you have any questions! And also, take a few minutes to introduce yourselves in the comments!
